Library Experience

Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant, Illinois Fire Service Institute Library, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, August 2019 – Present

• Respond to inquiries by email, phone, and through in-person advising sessions
• Provide reference assistance for visiting librarians and scholars at IFSI Library
• Collaborate with International Student and Scholar Services process visiting librarian’s DS -2019 application and help manage incoming librarian’s check-in
• Assistant with collection development and acquisitions, also experience in cataloging fire collections in MARC
• Advise librarians on the DS-2019 application process, requirements, cross-cultural communications, travel planning and logistics, personal concerns, and help them acclimate to their new university setting
• Contribute to Chinese Librarians Scholarly Exchange Program (CLSEP) marketing, recruitment, and outreach initiatives through social media
• Plan, develop and implement program schedule and field trip for CLSEP
• Develop and revise informational materials, resources, guidelines, and other content
• Create handouts and course materials (e.g. study module index, reading list) in bilingual languages
• Coordinate multiple ongoing projects in the library, such as archives, database data entry, yearbook design, etc
• Translation and revise informational materials, resources, guidelines, and other content
• Work with other members of the CLSEP to help-out with other cross-functional activities as needed Hubei Province Museum Library

• Process and photograph archives from The Archives of Institute of Modern History

• Upgrade and edit the new web pages using the wiki language, communicate with the administrator

• Focus on proofreading and maintained all submitted contents from related resources

• Assistant in searching collections through Polaris
• Check out of library materials, placing patron requests, locating requested items
